How Bill Clinton met Hillary will make your soul melt

He stepped easily into storyteller mode, saying, “In the spring of 1971, I met a girl.” We all knew it would be oh-so-good. “I asked her to take a walk…we’ve been walking, talking and laughing together ever since.”
“I married my best friend,” he continued. “I was still in awe, after more than four years of being around her, at how smart, and strong, and caring she was.”
But the speech wasn’t just about his incredible love for his incredible wife, the first woman presidential nominee from a major party. She’s the best darn change-maker I’ve ever met in my entire life. This is a really important point,” he said. “This woman has never been satisfied with the status quo. She always wants to move the ball forward. That is just who she is.”
This election has been absolutely filled to the brim with tension, and that tension has been valid. Emotions have run high and harsh words have been thrown. At the end of the day, though, sometimes it’s nice to sit back and appreciate a little bit of love, and, if nothing else, the speech helped remind us that Hillary’s a person just like the rest of us.
