China holds first live-fire drills with aircraft carrier, warships

BEIJING (Reuters) reported: China's military has carried out its first ever live-fire drills using an aircraft carrier and fighters in the northeastern Bohai Sea close to Korea, state media said.
China's growing military presence in the disputed South China Sea has fueled concern, with the United States criticizing its militarization of maritime outposts and holding regular air and naval patrols to ensure freedom of navigation.

Yesterday, The Central BANK OF Nigeria announced a temporary suspension of FCMB Bank along with ither eight other commercial banks from access to the foreign exchange market. This Suspension is based on the Single Account Directive (SAD), which stops banks from holding funds on behalf of government entities and instead, effect daily remittances to CBN.

86 repentant members of the dreaded Boko Haram sect are currently undergoing rehabilitation at the Bulumkutu Rehabilitation Centre Maiduguri, Dr. Mohammed Goni Alkali, managing director of the North-East Development Commission (NEDC) has  said . The former terrorists are sheltered and catered for by the Borno State Government with support from development partners. Meanwhile, the NEDC is set to launch a scholarship program that will sponsor persons affected by insurgency in the region into the academics and to undertake vocational skills.
